In a world gone insane, I’ve tried to retain mine. Friends and family almost all on facebook, twitter, etc… I love ya, but do we really need to know you’re on your way for a quart of milk?

One colleague whom I highly respect has helped make some sense of this newish (to me) culture. Dr. Patrick MacNamara of Next Generation Chiropractor has encouraged me to persevere into the quagmire. And I thank him for that.

But really, the kicker was this… we just adopted a “pound puppy”. And he’s a real sweetheart! Reminds me of a paw-shaped bumper sticker I saw recently that said “Who rescued who?”

We found him on the website of our local Animal Protection Society. Great resource. Lots of pictures, stories about the dog’s playfulness, demeanor, the dog’s Blog,… Seymour had a Blog. Did I mention my pound puppy had a Blog?

Not to be outdone by a lab/hound mix, I will write with a goal to be a source of reason, principle, and hope for the chiropractic student and the doctor with a dream to be a success in practice. I also like playing Frisbee, and a good scratch behind the ears.

A pinch of sarcasm may be added where necessary, but only to enhance the flavor.

There’s a lot of uncertainty and fear among our students and new grads, maybe especially today with the mystery of this administration’s healthcare policies. But fear need not win. Developing a plan of what to do, and especially what NOT to do, is one of your best weapons against fear and uncertainty.

In the words of Bill Gove, the father of professional speaking, “I’m not scared, ’cause I’m prepared”. All right, let’s get on with it!
